Previous field trips of our chapter

Saturday, April 12, 2014, 9:00 a.m.: Vasquez Rocks County Park: This is our ANNUAL MICKEY LONG DESERT FIELD TRIP. Highlights include the new interpretive center that opened in 2013. Plant communities include juniper woodland with scattered scrub oak, manzanita, and yucca. We are hopeful of enough rain to bring flowers. Duration 3 hours. Directions: Meet 9:00 a.m. in the parking lot of Vasquez Rocks County Park at 10700 Escondido Canyon Road. Coming from the Los Angeles area, take the 14 freeway north to Agua Dulce Canyon Road exit. Turn left onto Agua Dulce Canyon Road. After about two miles, the road turns sharply to the right and becomes Escondido Canyon Road. Go about a quarter mile to the park entrance on the right.
