Thursday, September 26, 2019: Pot Luck Supper and Art Display 6:30 p.m., Poetry Reading 7:30 p.m., Members' Slide Show 7:45 p.m.: It's time for our annual Pot Luck and Members' Slide Show! This year, we encourage you to share original art, such as drawings, paintings, poetry, or prose, that are related to native plants. Bring your favorite dish to share at the pot luck, beginning at 6:30 p.m. And please bring your own plate, cup and utensils.
Members who submit poetry are encouraged to read their poems to the audience at 7:30 p.m. The digital photo slideshow begins at 7:45, and is an opportunity to show your favorite native-plant-related photographs.
To participate in the slideshow, please select one to twelve photos that you would like to share. If you can, please identify the plants in each photograph with common names and/or botanical names, or the group can help identify them. And please tell us where you found them.
Submit digital image files, by Monday, September 23, to Katie Gallagher at firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, especially if files are large (greater than 2 MB), you can send Katie a link to your preferred photo website where she can download them, or you can upload the files using our website’s upload page at https://cnps-sgm.org/upload. Files can be JPG or other image formats, preferably at full resolution. Or, if you prefer, you can create your own PowerPoint or OpenOffice slides at 4x3 and send them.
If you have other art works that you would like to share, please contact Katie to discuss how that might be arranged.
As always, the meeting will be at the Eaton Canyon Nature Center, in Pasadena. It is free and open to the public. Come and see the beautiful photographs and other works of art, whether you are showing your own work or not, even if you don't make it to the potluck.
