Thursday, June 23, 2016, 7:30 p.m.: Creating a habitat garden, with April Garbat Vaughan: Learn how to create a refreshing, inviting, low-water habitat for butterflies, birds (especially hummingbirds), native bees, and other beneficial insects and animals, regardless of the size of your garden. The talk covers specific plants and features for our region, as well as general design principles that could be applied anywhere.
April Garbat Vaughan is a landscape designer working in southern California. She has 15+ years of experience gardening with California native and California-friendly plants, and focuses on creating refreshing, sustainable habitats for people and creatures. She has experience with residential landscape design, scenery analysis, cultural landscape preservation, and invasive plant control, and brings all of that together for each garden she designs.
