San Dimas Experimental Forest 1980

Saturday, March 7, 2015, 9:00 a.m - 12:30 p.m..: San Dimas Experimental Station Wildflower Walk: Here is a unique opportunity to visit the experimental forest above San Dimas Canyon. The experimental forest was established in 1933 and covers 26 square miles. It includes coastal sage scrub, oak woodland, grasslands, ferns, and mixed conifers. We will go in via the lower entry area by San Dimas Canyon Road. The trail has a southern exposure, and some wildflowers are already in bloom. Directions: Meet 9 a..m. in the parking lot at San Dimas Canyon Park located at 1628 North Sycamore Canyon Road, San Dimas, which is at the intersection of N. San Dimas Canyon Road and Sycamore Canyon Road. Bring plenty of water, sturdy shoes or boots and sun protection.
