Gabi and I produced an interactive CD in 2008 and sold it at nature centers and botanic gardens. Now we have made the entire application available for free on our website.

Many of you know that, back in 2008, Gabi and I produced an interactive CD on the lower elevation portions of the San Gabriel Mountains (below about 5000 feet) and then updated it in 2013 with new botanical names and families. We sold copies at our plant sales, nature centers, botanic gardens, book stores, and on Amazon, in addition to direct sales through our website. Now, we have made the entire application available for free on our website www.natureathand.com/sgmplants.

This application works best with PCs and Macs and should work with most browsers. Because it was designed for desktop computer screen sizes, using it on phones requires some zooming and scrolling around, but it should still function.

It currently has over 1800 photos and descriptions of 258 plant species and 69 families. We are currently working to expand it to include plants of higher elevations and desert slopes, as well.

If you have any problems using this application or other feedback, please let us know at cliff@natureathand.com.
